Some people prefer to drive on long trips rather than fly, especially if they have large families. The one drawback to that is trying to fit all your luggage. Even a large SUV may not have enough cargo space. In that case, you may need to use a roof rack. Here are some tips on doing so.
First off, make sure your luggage and other cargo fit within the footprint of the roof rack. Having items hang over the sides is unsafe and could cause items to shift. You also want to make sure you don’t stack things up too high. And, of course, you want to make sure any items you do place in your roof rack are tied down securely with straps or bungee cords.
If you have questions about proper roof rack use or need one installed, the professionals at Mike Bell Chevrolet in Carrollton, GA can help. Come see us today.
