For your peace of mind when driving your vehicle, you should understand the purpose and function of its parts. The mufflers and exhausts are component of a vehicle that are often confused. These two parts deal with the gases produced from our engine after combustion. The internal combustion process of a vehicle is usually noisy. This is where the mufflers come in to minimize the amount of noise coming from the exhaust system. Exhaust and mufflers are two separate components. The Muffler is commonly referred to as the silencer because of its function of lessening the noise. Piles and other components in your car’s exhausts system transport the exhaust gases generated by the engine’s internal combustion process to the outside. This is a very sensitive system in the vehicle because if a large amount of the exhaust gasses leaks into the cabin, it will be hazardous to the occupants and to the overall efficiency of the vehicle.
